Lent & Easter

This Lent, we seek to empty ourselves through fasting and fill the void with the Word. Journey for 40 days and then be filled with the miracle of the resurrection.

Easter Services

Sunday, April 20 • 6AM & 10AM

He is Risen! We will celebrate the greatest event in human history with a sunrise service in our west parking lot at 6am and our regular service at 10:00.

Good Friday Service

Friday, April 18 • 6:30PM

The only way to Easter is through the Cross. You are invited to this solomn service to remember the sacrifice Jesus made all of those years ago on Calvary. Nursery will be available for children ages 0-3.

Easter Eggstravaganza

Saturday, April 12 • 10AM

Families of all ages are invited to our interactive journey to the cross. See and experience the events of the week that would begin with a triumphant entry and end with an empty tomb. Kids will also have an egg hunt and everyone is welcome to join us for lunch and fellowship after.

ASH WEDNESDAY

Wednesday, March 5 • 6:30PM

Mark the beginning of Lent with this solomn service on Wednesday, March 5, at 6:30pm in the Worship Center. Lent is a season in the Christian calendar that is a time of repentance and surrendering our old lives to find new life in Christ.

Your Daily Bread

Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” Matthew 4:4

This Lent, we want to digest the Word the same way we would our meals.

  • Receive your daily bread from the reading plan you already follow. If you are in need of one, consider using the Revised Common Lectionary. Most days, the lectionary provides three passages for reading, the intention for one to be read at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

  • Each time you read the Word, take at least 30 seconds to pray into God’s will for you, your family, and your community based on what you’ve read.

  • Gather in the SCC worship center for 15 minutes at noon every Monday thru Thursday and Friday by Zoom to read the Word, hear a brief meditation on it, and pray together.

  • Set aside time each Saturday of Lent to share the Word and prayer with your family unit. Do it around a meal, on a hike, or in a special place in your home. Seek to be intentional, honest, and together.

Fasting Together

Jesus fasted, his disciples fasted, and he expected us to fast as well. As we seek first his kingdom this Lent, we invite you to fast with us, following one of these two options.

  • Why fasting is important? How do we do it the way Jesus intended? You are invited to "40 Days to the Cross," a journey of prayer and fasting using "The 40-Day Sugar Fast: Where Physical Detox Meets Spiritual Transformation" by Wendy Speake as a guide. Gather with others on Wednesdays at 6:30pm for discussion and support. Sign up at SpringsCo.Church/events.

  • The same meal every meal. You choose seven components and base each meal on these ingredients only (nutritionist’s recommendations below).

2 Proteins (ground beef, two eggs)

3 Veggies/Grains (sweet potato, broccoli, sourdough bread)

    2 “Utilities” (milk/butter, salt/pepper)

  • Refrain from eating or drinking anything except water from the time you awaken until breakfast the following day.
