 People Blessings

The mission of Springs Community Church is to learn, live, and love Kingdom Life together. In 2024, SCC began our 40th year of ministry and we are as committed to bringing the Kingdom of God to Colorado Springs now as that small group of people was in 1985. Together we are pursuing sacred friendships and deep spiritual transformation while bringing a Spirit-empowered witness to a world that needs the hope of Jesus Christ. These values are the heart of Kingdom Life and we are grateful to God for allowing us to partner with him in this life-changing work. Read on for the blessings we celebrate from 2024.

72 School of Ministry

Seventy Two utilizes three distinct, but interconnected and equally important, models for Christian education (courses, formation, and apprenticeship) to provide gospel training that will equip disciples for whatever God is calling them to. In August, Seventy Two School celebrated its first two graduates: Dennis Gaymon and Braxton More.

“I had felt a calling to ministry for years but I wasn’t sure how to move forward. Seminary wasn’t a financially viable option, but I knew of no better choice at the time. [Seventy Two] became exactly what I needed, deepening my biblical understanding, sharpening my ability to teach and preach, and equipping me to eventually lead in evangelism with confidence and boldness. 72 didn’t just train me; it has affirmed and prepared me for the ministry God has placed on my heart.” –Braxton More

SCC Preschool

The SCC Preschool completed its 38th year in 2024. Our preschool has two goals for our students, that they love God and love school! Last year our staff of 19 teachers and aides, led by Director Theresa Becker, provided a high-quality early childhood education as they demonstrated the love of Jesus to 158 kids.

Sharing in the Joys of Life

We love to celebrate family milestones together! Congratulations to the Roland family on the birth of daughter Ruth and to Rona Culp and Charles Castle on their marriage. God bless you all!

 Stewardship Blessings

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10

We are thankful for the blessing of our property and facility and continue to make investments to ensure its upkeep and care. In 2024, along with regular upkeep, we also repaired and resealed half of our parking lot and installed fiber internet lines.

Blessed to be a Blessing!

Once a month, a group of seven ladies gather to make cards that are used to encourage our congregation in times of need and our church and preschool staff on their birthdays and holidays. Not content with this ministry, they expanded their ministry to bless residents at Solista Senior Living with cards on birthdays and holidays. That ministry then expanded even further: this group now visits Solista once a month, helping residents with different crafts and activities. This small group sent nearly 570 cards last year, brightening the days of literally hundreds of people, not to mention the time spent at Solista. We give thanks to God for this group who offered what they had to Him and how he multiplied their efforts for the glory of his kingdom.

Mission Trips

SCC sent two mission teams in 2024. In July, four people traveled to Dulce, New Mexico, to serve Jicarilla Apache Reformed Church. In their short time, they painted and made repairs to the church, organized the church kitchen, participated in community events, and provided relational support to Pastor Brad and his family. In October, six people went to Dixon Springs, Tennessee, and served Crossroads Mission Care. They helped Crossroads with their community workday, insulating the new kitchen, removing a defunct chimney, and providing relational support to Gil and Patti Carter.
